Visiting Aspen Colorado

Aspen is in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. You will find snow in Aspen for nearly half of the year. There are four ski resorts nearby suitable for skiing.

The four Ski areas are Aspen Mountain also called Ajax, Aspen Highlands, Snowmass, and Buttermilk.

Aspen was famous for silver mining and the heart of the local economy until the great depression.

If you want to spot celebrities, visit during the annual film festivals. Live music can be found year-round especially during summer.

Besides skiing, there is ice-skating, dog sledding, snowmobiling, hot-air ballooning, and fly fishing.

Visit Garden Of The Gods Colorado

Garden of the Gods is a public park which is located in Colorado. It is located at the base of Pikes Peak, 6 miles northwest of central Colorado.

Rock climbing, nature trails, and Centre are some of the park features. The Park and the Nature centers are free and open to the public. 

It takes about 60- 90 minutes to tour through the garden but that depends on your speed. You can also drive through if you don’t want to walk.

Visiting Crestone Colorado

Crestone is a statutory town in Saguache County southwest of Colorado. Crestone was a small mining town. The area is a new age center with several world religions.

Activities in the area include camping, fishing, hiking, climbing, and spiritual explorations. Baca National Wildlife Refuge is an oasis in the Desert.

From here you can also see the mountains, the blue skies, a river with clear water, as you seat on the green grass.

The area is perfect for a day hike, a picnic, or a day biking trip. There are colorful birds here like the kestrel, great horned owl, northern flicker, robin, and yellow warbler to name but a few.    

You can also admire art from the unique rural mountain community at Crestone Artisan Gallery. Climb up Crestone Ziggurat which is a local landmark that rises from a rocky hill and gets a full view of the cozy town.

If time allows retreat to the tranquil Crestone Mountain Zen Center.  

Visit Estes Park Colorado

Estes Park is a town in northern Colorado, 70 miles from Denver. To get to Estes Park it takes 90 minutes from Denver.

Estes lies along the Big Thompson River. The town was named after Missouri native Joel Estes. Este’s town is at the Eastern entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park.  

Shops, galleries, and boutiques line the main street. Wildlife sightings like elk and bighorn sheep are prevalent.

Enjoy world-class hiking, rock climbing, skiing, and scenic drives. Estes Park has a humid continental climate. Summer days are typically warm and sometimes hot. Winter days are cold.

Grand Junction is also known as the hub, a city in Colorado’s western slope region. Grand Junction is 247 miles west-South of the Colorado State capital in Denver. 

The streets are filled with art galleries, clothing boutiques, antique shops, and restaurants. Grand Junction is Colorado’s wine country with more than 20 wineries all over the city.

The place offers local brews and spirits. Grand Junction enjoys warm summers and moderate springs, fall, and winter seasons.

Visiting Telluride Colorado

Telluride is a beautiful mountain town, southwest Colorado. Telluride a former Victorian mining town is named after tellurium. A nonmetallic element is associated with rich mineral deposits of gold and silver.

Vail ski resort is a home rule municipality in Eagle County, Colorado. It is located in the sunning central Rocky Mountains just 30 miles east of Eagle, and 100 miles west of Denver.

You can easily access Vail from Denver International airport and Eagle County Airport. Vail founded as a ski resort in 1962 and incorporated as a town in 1966.

The White River National Forest is most visited, and Gore Range Mountains surround the valley.

The town has warm summers and cold winters. In winter skiing and snowboarding are the top activities. During summer zip lines, mountain coaster, rafting, mountain bike, culinary delights, and golf courses take place.
